The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, along with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Training and Placement Cell, works dedicatedly to ensure that eligible students of the department are provided with the right opportunities in the IT sector to highlight their skills and talent.The department also has faculty members who serve as placement coordinators. The primary job of the placement coordinator includes acting as a point of contact between the Training and Placement Cell and the students of the department and also mentoring the students and providing them with guidance in choosing the right path for their career.
The department plays a vital role in locating job opportunities for the students who are all passing out of the department by keeping in touch with top-notch companies. The department operates throughout the year to facilitate interactions between companies and budding graduates.The illustrious alumni of the institution have extended their fullest support in the placement-related activities and roped in many companies for the campus drive, besides conducting pre-placement training programmes at frequent intervals to improve the students’ skill set.
In addition to the training and placement, guidance on entrepreneurship and awareness programmes relating to competitive exams and bank exams are also being regularly conducted. Students are also encouraged to register for SWAYAM online courses and value-added courses to strengthen their career opportunities.From this academic year 2022-2023, an hour per week on placement training has been made mandatory for the third and fourth-year students and included in the class timetable. Regular training sessions are being held not only during placement hours but also during free time and after-hours.
The importance of skill set in addition to knowledge for career development is being repeatedly emphasised, and awareness of up-skilling programmes is being highlighted to all students.The training module consists of the following:
